Sharp-edge hand-poured dice guarantee unbiased distribution.
Mass-tumbled dice round their corners unevenly in rock tumblers; these hand-polished resin polyhedrals retain crisp zero-radius edges and true center-of-gravity balance.

Pressure-cured epoxy resin eliminates hidden center-of-mass bias
Standard factory dice are produced in high-volume injection molds and tumbled in ceramic slurry for forty hours to soften edges. That tumbling erodes corners asymmetrically, creating flat spots that favor specific numbers. For critical skill checks and campaign combat rolls, asymmetrical dice produce statistical bias that ruins tactical play.
We hand-pour our dice using two-part optical epoxy resin inside pressure pots pressurized to 40 PSI. This collapses internal air bubbles down to microscopic size, ensuring the geometric center of mass aligns exactly with the physical center of gravity. Each face is then lapped by hand on glass plates using 1-micron to 9-micron diamond polishing sheets.
The resulting zero-radius edges bite clean into rolling trays, generating true kinetic tumble rather than sliding across the baize like rounded plastic pebbles.
Deep engraved typography inked for low-light tabletop sessions
Numbers are engraved into master molds at 0.6 mm depth, then hand-inked with high-pigment acrylic metallic enamel. Unlike shallow pad printing that rubs off after twenty sessions, our recessed numerals are protected below the polished facet plane.
The 6 and 9 numerals carry distinct underline locator bars to prevent table confusion during tense late-night dungeon encounters. Facets are mirror-finished without cloudy hazy swirls.
Precision Manufacturing Workflow
Workshop ProtocolHow We Cast and Polish Each Polyhedral Die
We do not mass produce dice in giant automated tumblers. Each set is mixed by hand in our Portland workshop using precise gram scales to ensure pigment loads never exceed 1.2% by weight. Heavier pigment ratios cause uneven settling that biases rolls.
After a 24-hour pressurized cure at 40 PSI, master sprue nubs are removed with micro-chisels. Each face is lapped across six consecutive grits of alumina paper on a granite surface plate, culminating in a hand buff with cerium oxide for optical brilliance.
Care and Maintenance
Sharp-edge resin dice require gentle care. Keep them in their slotted EVA foam collector tin when traveling. Storing them loose in a cloth drawstring bag allows facet edges to strike against each other, causing micro-chipping over time.
Wipe with microfiber cloth. Keep away from extreme heat sources exceeding 65°C (150°F) to preserve epoxy crystal stability.
